new to the forum - can anyone help me value my pre-64 model 70?
s/n is 29xxx
rifle has a scope - scope is old
in great condition - no marks or mars.
an old leather strap is attached.
The walnut stock is very dark, i want to buff it but not sure the best way to do it - so looking for a little help with ideas. I'd like to sell it, so i want to get a decent valuation and any advice where to post it (besides here)
appreciate any help. thanks.

hi chops,
for a prewar m70 the value could be considerable, personally i'ld have a professional appraisal for insurance and use that. i would not refinish the stock. just take some alcohol and a soft rag and wipe off all the dirt and collected oils. for m70's produced in the 50's the prices start at about 1500.
