Hi, when my dad died I ended up with these two guns and I want to sell them now but don't know their value. One is Western Field 410 gauge and the other is Winchester R 228L.ORLR Model 190. So can someone tell me what I can ask as a selling price. Thanks!

you didn't say wether the 410 is a pump ,,bolt action or single shot,,so it's kinda hard to value it ,,the winchester 190 semi auto if in good condition might bring 100-150 depending on the condition and what someone is willing to pay for it ..it's a inexpencive 22 semi and the only thing going for it is it's name ,,the western feild will be a knock off of another company made for a chain store and proably worth between 125-200 in any of the action types other than single shot and if it's a single barrel shotgun id say between 75-125 if really nice,,thats the best i can tell ya on the 2 guns..

Hi there,

Thanks for your response (BigCurt). The 410 is single barrel, and bolt action and it's single shot? Can it be single barrel and single shot? Hell I dont know - it looks like you can fit one bullet in it. And my dog's no help, so I'm making an educated guess?

Also, I dont even know if they are registered to my dad. He hated hunting and only went to make my uncle happy - needless to say they both are in great condition as he probably went all of 5 times.

So to sell (I'm in Calif) am I going to have to jump through all these hoops? and where do I sell. I mean obviously you sell guns here but it seems like the types of guns here are in a whole different class if that makes any sense.

Thanks for your help I appreciate it!

lol.. yes it can be a bolt action single shot but i'd bet it's a clip fed or a tube fed ,,is there a hole in the bottom of the stock under where you would load it ? or is there a latch and a clip that comes out of the bottom? is there a model number on the barrel? mabey like model 150 or model 170 something,,mabey 15a,,all these shotguns are models of mossberg shotguns sold with the western feild trade name ,,being the guns are in really good shape they should bring you around 250-300 for the pair ,,if ya want to sell them put an add in your local paper or free add paper and make sure you put the model numbers in when you list them,,if you can give me a model number i can tell you if it's a mossberg and if it's a single shot or a 2 shot ..magazine model ..the 190 is definatly a semi auto winchester and should bring 125 if nice and 135 if really nice ,,ask 150 and then let the buyer make an offer if he doesn't like the 150 price,,for the shotgun ask 150 also and dicker from there ,,don't jump on the first offer either i'm sure you will get some calls on them,,try not to go to a gunshop if you can help it because the gundealer will proably offer 100-125 for both,,just the game they play to buy cheap and double there money,,
bigcurt,,sounds like ya needed some gun education and i'm always willing to help out a pretty lady..lol..lol..
