Have a Sears JC Higgins 583.18 -- which I believe is a 16 gauge with a roll date of Nov 1949 and production -- oh 1950-1951. In say 80 percent condition would $90 be reasonable?

Thats probably about right.

There was a recall on these. The bolt can hit the shooter in the face.
