Guest,

There is a bit of fogginess in your description.
Takedown models tend to be a bit on the old side.
Along with the octagon barrel and nickel steel barrel designation. The kicker is the cs sportman. Can you give me a serial number to go on? Bottom of the receiver, at the base of the fore end. Like the photo.

Elisabeth,

This is going to be a slow painful process if you don't tell me a lot more about the rifle.

These rifles can be very valuable if the condition is nice and if they happen to have some special features on them. This is NOT a one number fits all item. Your best chance for an accurate value would be to post some photos of the rifle. More than one! Take a series of photos up one side and down the other. From about 2 feet away. Do it outside in the shade WITHOUT THE FLASH ON. The n I can tell you what it might be worth. It could be as little as $300 to more than $5000!! That got your attention didn't it? But the high priced ones are rare and in very good condition.
