Fear of a possible Obama Presidency have driven gun sales up.
Sales by firearm and ammunition manufacturers were up 9.7 percent in the first quarter of 2008, led by a 17.3 percent increase in ammunition sales, a 5 percent rise in handgun sales and a 6.7 percent increase in long gun sales, these statistics are based solely on US civilian sales and do not include sales to military, police, etc. This is happening because of the new & “improved” Clinton Gun Ban that Obama has promised to push for & sign if he gets elected.
Barack Obama continues to support this total ban-and wants to expand it. In 2004 Obama stated: “I am consistently on record and will continue to be on record as opposing concealed carry,” and said he would back federal legislation that would ban citizens from carrying weapons, except for law enforcement.

The worst scenario does look bad… :-|
In my neck of the woods gun and ammo sales have gone thru the roof. If you’re lucky the gun is on the shelf, if not you’re looking at a back-order. Ammo is flying off the shelf faster than it can be ordered for some calibers. There is alot of fear out there. Some justified. I don’t believe the Gov can ban the carry of weapons, too many people have them and will use them. Short of a Constitutional convention, which would be a mistake, our ownership of guns is safe.
