Overall, it was a fun movie. The first car chase scene (involving one of those super-heavy construction cranes) was probably worth the admission fee.

So Arnold uncovers Sarah Connors's gun stash, and it consists of like every automatic weapon and destructive device known to man that can fit in an 8' long cache. A while back, I posted a request wondering what AK variant was used by the main bad guy in TRUE LIES, and consensus was it was a Krinkov. This time the Krinkov is used by one of the good guys (Claire Danes) and she's pretty handy with it for a veteranarian. I swear that Hollywood thinks they discovered the Glock 18 (as used in NATIONAL SECURITY and MATRIX: RELOADED) because John Connor (Nick Stahl) scoops one up and never really has the chance to use it. So instead of using it for defense, he does a full-auto burst into a dark cave to persuade the bad guys to come out of hiding.

Arnold also uses one of those revolver-type 40-mm launchers and launches some slugs into the main bad guy, T-X. T-X is played by Kristanna Loken and I think she says like five words throughout the move. 'I like your car' and 'I like your gun' are about it. Seriously. She does use an LAPD-issue Smith & Wesson semiauto to dispatch several people and in one shot you get a great view of the pistol's slide with the 'SMITH & WESSON' logo visible.

Overall, I think the T-1000 beats the T-101 and the T-X for personality.

I saw T2 just before T3 - local station ran both Terminator movies just before T3 opened - and I noticed something I'd never noticed before.

In T2, in the scene where Connor is attacked by the SWAT team while she's in the Cyberdyne lab, she's carrying an semi-automatic pistol with what appears to be an unusually long barrel.

Question - is this pistol a Browning GP Competition? You never see it for more than a second at a time, so this is a tough id.

Also, as per strict movie requirements, there is plenty of Minigun action.

And for the record John Connor taps that Glock 18 trigger and them immedietely reloads. Although he does use up a bit more ammo than he has available in another scene...

Yeah, I liked T-3 too! Hollyweird gun fashions tend to run in groups. They are always looking for something new, and exciting to arms their actors with. At one time every one had Desert Eagles. 'Last Man Standing' and 'The Mummy' had more or less the same double shoulder rigs. And since Hollyweird is more interested in full auto caca than reality, it is no wonder the Glock super squirter made in into a few flicks! Shooting a Terminator unit with a 9m/m seems like a waste of ammo to me! Ah Clair Dane(I would not mind being locked up alone in a bomb shelter with her!) was using a straight folding stock AK. In my mind, an AK loaded with steel core ammo would have to be the best thing to have in your hands for close encounters with T101's! Though a reliable 308 would do too, and a Barrett .50 cal would be very nice for sniping though not very portable. And Arnies' Brief use of the HK UMP in the C&C of the Area 51 like place was noted(also in The Maxtrix Reloaded). How about that previously unheard of drum and trigger system for the non-recoiling Browing 1917 aircooled(whilst carrying a coffin loaded with weapons no less). Or Clair Danes Miraculous recovery after getting fried from the back blast of an RPG launch? I am waiting for the one 1928 drum fed Thompson in each hand scene! The TX? As long as I get to program her, she would be a most interesting companion to have about(and, yes indeed, Fully Functional!!)! The Machines know we biological critters have a ingrained disposition toward procreation, and a female terminator unit should have been the first thing to come out, hard to be mean and shoot up a lovely lady(made of steel and much more powerful than us mere mortals). Far better assasination unit overall!! What? No grenade launchers or shotgun shell boob job? But, I look forward to the next ones. The door is open for Hollyweird to play Mad Max meets the Forbin Project meets the normal spray and pray antics of action adventure flicks. And well, they do not even need to use Arnie anymore, the next one is all able the struggle to survive amist radiation, organizing a resistance and the begining of the machine wars! Hey, Clair Danes is dying of something nasty and programs a TX to come back and help John and his wife out. Now whats that? A Machine De Tweux(don't speak french!) LOL Still a good series of 'what if's' and terrible possibility. DVC, Jercamp45

Agree with you, worth the price of the ticket !

Interesting, with all the 'technology' available in the future, there are no references to 'smart guns' or variations of such devices.

Guess Hollywood knows what we already know, the criminal element will always have firearms.

And the movies would have no plot with smart weapons.
