I have looked at other sites and see prices from $300 to $3000 for the same type of gun. Can you help with a value on these guns? Can the difference in prices be because of serial #'s?
Winchester 1897 12 gauge shotgun s#E-8749-- full choke ,good condition.
Winchester model 97 Riot gun/ deer gun, 16 gauge w/ peep sites s#E-4389--
Any suggestions to get dates on these?
Thanks

hi monidina,
your 12 gauge was manufactured in 1941 if the s/n is 8749xx. the 16 guage was manufactured in 1910 if the s/n is 4389xx. if this is correct i could give you an approximate value. winchester used no letters in s/n's on their firearms.

Go to gunsinternational.com
About any old gun is for sale there by dealers all over the country.
At least you will find what is being asked for it, with condition taken into account.
About all guns are described with photos.
Cheers.
