A few weeks ago i read an article about a new law that was passed in Iowa i believe, that basically makes it super expensive to own guns. Instead of making them illegal or hard to get, just make people renew a very expensive license, per gun, every year. I can't find anything about this now, was wondering if anyone knows what im talking about.

i've herd rumors on that to but as of yet the represenatives haven't been stupid enough to let it pass..i herd 5.00a gun to 20.00 a gun,,and even a charge on the ammo ..but i don't see it happening soon..shooting ranges will proably get bit next ,,there making it so expencive to buy ammo and then everybody wants a gun right now because there brainwashed into beleiving there gonna go away like an extinct bird or something and what its doing is raising the prices to where ya can't afford the new ones so then they will have the ammo up.. the rifles to expencive to own ...so they'll have to throw new regulations at and price increases on something ..it will proably be the ranges ..so they'll shut them down and we won't have a place to shoot,,theres to few to start with especially near the big cities,,the'll figure something out to help them fight the "right to own a gun crime!"

Gun laws are going to get even tougher until they make it impractical or impossible to own one, that's the Governments goal. Here in Taxachusetts we have some of the toughest gun laws, us and California. Our pistol permits used to be about $25 if I remember correctly. They jumped up overnight a few years ago to $100 every time you have to renew. I live in a big city, over 200,000 people. The Chief here will only issue a permit to carry concealed to Police Officers, retired Police Officers, and prison guards, no exceptions. I lucked out because I'm a retired Police Officer.
A lot of people think Police Officers would love all guns outlawed except theirs, but that's not true. I was pro gun my whole career and felt people had the right to own guns, like my father, a gun collector. It was never the decent law abiding gun owner or collector that shot at me, it was the dirt bag who didn't have a permit. If the time comes when all decent law abiding civillians have to turn in their guns, they will be the only ones that will. Do you think the dirt bag carrying a stolen gun and has no permit is going to turn in his? They'll be the only ones with guns after they're taken away from the decent folks. Like that bumper sticker says, "Outlaw Guns And Only Outlaws Will Have Them." Ohhh nooo! You got me going again! I could go on forever on this subject, ha-ha.
