If you want to motivate yourself either as a private person trying to acquire the skills of being a good shooter or if you are in the military or thinking about it, there is a very nice motivation site you might enjoy.
It is called Military Motivator and it has all kinds of army posts but what I liked best is the pictures. The kid on this one might be too young to hold a gun with such confidence but that’s open for discussion.
I would rather let them be kids for the few extra years.

I understand, but shooting (safe, supervised plinking) was a big part of my childhood and I don’t think it diminished my time as a child at all. It was just something fun and “grown-up” I could do with my dad.
Now my kids do it with their dad . . . and their grandpa . . . and the same rifle I learned on, a .22 copy of the AR-15 made by Jaeger.
In fact, that’s how we celebrated Independence Day yesterday.
It was a little weird for me at first but I’m really glad that you commented and add the fun part of the experience.
It always good to hear other perspectives
