Did you know that your gun can be worth tens of thousands of dollars? Well I was not even aware that such guns exists…
I’ve asked 2bit our moderator and he confirmed that guns can be worth that much and more. And I am not talking about a gun that Lincoln once shot, which belongs to a meseum. I am talking about guns that you and I might have on our garage, never knowing their real value.
A short peek at dayswinchesters revealed several very expensive guns, including this marvelous Winchester Model 1886, for which they are asking $40,000 (I will leave it to our mods to decide if it’s worth it or not). When I saw it, I couldn’t but wonder if the fellow they have bought it from was a guy like me, selling it for a couple of thousands, never aware guns could be worth so much…
Make sure you check your gun value before you sell it!

Russ Day sells high quality rifles for clients on consignment. I promise you that the owners of these rifle have a very good idea of what they are worth. There were only 186,000 Model 1886 rifles made by Winchester. They were large bore rifles, mainly .40 and .50 caliber, made for hunting large game. The bullets they fired were commonly 250 to 300 grain or more in weight.
Many of these rifles were ordered, as was this one, in Deluxe Sporting Rifle configurations with checkered, high grade walnut wood. The high condition and relative scarcity of these rifle drives their value to exceedingly high prices. This one is a spectacular rifle that would be hard to improve on.
