I just read the review of the new EAA Saiga .308 in the recent American Rifleman. Has anyone had any experience with EAA products? The price seems very reasonable for a .308, and seeing I can't afford an Armalite AR-10 or a Springfield M1-A, I was wondering if this was a reliable alternative.

I got mine and I am very happy with it. I've probably ran about 200 rounds of surplus through it without a single jam. I paid $500+tax and got a new rifle with a Russian PSO 6-36 scope and two magazines - with all of the little accessories that come with a new rifle Well worth it to me.

Don't know about the .308, but I have found the 7.62x39 Saiga to be 100% reliable (after several hundred rounds fired), as accurate as I can shoot with open sights, and easy to fieldstrip and clean.

Being AK type I am sure It will be reliable gun. I wonder on the accuracy. They are also made in 223. Great price. Anyone own one?

I have one in the 24 inch barrel. A lot better gun then the 161/2 inch one. and has wood on it. if the 16 inch they tested shot that good just think of the 24 inch. the trigger is the only problem. Mine killed deer very dead.
