Okay, I am replacing the 12 lb spring with a Wolf 8 lb. I have practiced reassembling that nasty hand spring, and feel ready to pop the hammer to get to the hammer spring. I will clean and lube all surfaces prone to contact/pressure wear.

1)What surprises are in store when I clamp back the hammer spring and pop the hammer?

2) Of what value is the supplied (by Wolf) 'reduced power trigger return spring' included with the package?

3) Pros and Cons of moly-based lubricants on surface hardened 'pot' metal trigger parts, anyone?

I can get access to Lexis-Nexis at the law library. Will give the author name a try. After reading the Dan Wesson website instructions on dis- and re- assembly of the small frame revolver, I decided to let a gunsmith do the respring to 8 lbs (Wolf) and do a complete clean & lube. After a partial clean/lube I got great groupings at 15 yards. But, still interested to see this article. I will tell you ASAP if I can access it.

Thanks for the heads up. Lord knows, I have worked on cameras enough to respect design and springs, but I backed off the Dan Wesson trigger, . . . camera springs are just not that powerful. You really have to know the sequence and how to peg back a spring. > ...

Google had Milek a few times, a most respected editor of Guns and Ammo magazine. But no article on the DW15 22. I'll keep looking. Hope you have better luck.
