The closest thing you'll find is the .380-size Kahr K9. Very reliable, DAO - but with very light trigger pull. No, smaller mag capacity; read review.

It sounds to me like you're looking for a CZ PCR or by its new designation P-01. It's small, lightweight, holds thirteen rounds in the magazine (except in some really repressive states...like mine) or ten, has a decocker, and a loaded chamber indicator. It is really accurate, Gun Tests recently tested this gun and it's average accuracy with all ammo tested was a mere 2.2'. What more could you ask for? If it has any drawback it's that it's a little bit wider than some of the other carry guns. All in all it makes for an excellent carry piece. Oh, and did I mention that they sell new for around $400.00?

# Where am I going with this? I am going in the direction of a fairly # compact, light weight semi-automatic pistol with reasonable stopping # power. For my purposes stopping power means that an assailant would # most likely be unable to press an attack after 15 seconds of being hit # by the first round. I don't believe in one shot stops, unless the # bullet hits the brain.

15 seconds is much, much much to long...Not only do you ramble, but you seem to have no concept of what kind of damage a person can do if they are bent on harming you or your family. 15 seconds is an eternity.

# Learn to shoot your Glock!

Load, point, pull trigger. How hard should it be?

Oh, and I did keep all the shots on a letter sized piece of paper at 25 yards rapid fire (excepting the delays to clear jams).

Another pistol that seems to come 'close' to what you want is the FN Double-action Hi-Power compact. It is a wee bit longer, taller, and probably thicker through the grips but it is approx 6.7 inches long, about 4.5 inches tall, all steel, with a ten round magazine and a 3.8 inch barrel. I almost bought one when they were being discounted but hesitated a bit too long. Still on my list but I would like to see one first.

David I guess I will have to elaborate. I was the armorer for a major metro sheriffs office and I helped oversee the changeover from many different personally owned weapons to Glock 19 9mm issued. Fully 25 percent of the female deputies and 10 percent of the male deputies had failure to feed problems. 95 percent of all of these failures were grip control related (limp wristing) the remaining failures were ammo related as at the time we used reloads to practice and qualify. After instruction in proper grip with instructions not to use the squared trigger guard for any kind of grip we had very few problems after that. Full power duty ammo cured the reminder of the failures. Try hotter ammo in your glock and see if that fixes the problem. I was going to warn you about your 'Clicker of Death' but I will save that for another time. Dean

Ideally, you want to be able to incapacitate a criminal attacker at least 7 meters away in a fraction of a second because he can easily be in your face in less than two seconds from a standing start if he rushes you.

In many situations, he'll be a lot closer when you (if you are observing your surroundings) spot his attack, so a powerful gun and good aim applied very quickly are imperative.
