Looking for a replacement forestock orginal was lost. numbers on gun 8007 has genuine laminated barrels only writeing is colton firearms toledo o usa.
hello,,from the research i've found ,,the colton manufactureing co,supplied sears with there first american made hammerless double barrel shotgun in the eary 1900's,,sears replaced them in 1902 with a better designed double,,finding the forarm might be like looking for a needle in a haystack,,especially if you need the iron for it also,,,,they are not often seen much these days and there were 4 models with different grades ,,value for them would be from 300 to possibly over 1000 if it's in decent shape ,,it's worth look for one but it's not gonna be an easy task,,you may be able to find a forarm that can be modified to fit but as i said the iron fixture may be almost impossible to find the exact one ,,
i'd look at local gunshows and also watch the online auctions ,,like ebay,gunbrokers.com and also maybe auctionarms,, you may come across a parts gun to use if it has the parts ya need ,,i'd try a search at these sites with the word "colton" and see what hits ,,guns america also could be a site for parts or cheap parts gun ..good luck .. i really don't know if any parts houses would have any parts but you could look at numrich arms, popperts gun parts ,,bobs gun parts ,,and maybe wisners obsolete gun parts ,,wisners has a lot of parts but expect to pay more from them,,
Thank you for the info I just got the gun from family and will keep looking for the forestock it may still be around the house this was part of an estate.
