Hey, I just bought a Colt 1911 and am looking for a manufactures date, S/N is 167842, it says the "MODEL of 1911 US ARMY" on the ejection port side and the last patent date is August 19th 1918. any ideas

First I'm NOT AT ALL a 1911 expert, but what I think this is telling you is that at least the slide doesn't match the gun. It's a later slide on a earlier gun made in 1917.
