hello,,your C.Hellis double was made4 in Wesybourne Park ,London,,yours is proably the 2" or the featherweight model,,Hellis shotguns are still being produced in london and values depend if it's a side lock or a boxlock and if auto ejectors or non ejectors ,,the cheapest value i've found is 1000-3000 for a boxlock with non auto ejectors ,,they go up from there,,might be a good one to have a collector in british doubles apraise for actual insurance values..

Hi davie boy,

Nice coincidence. I have a Charles Hellis side by side hammer action with serial number... 1870. That means that our guns were close to eachother in the factory more more then 102 years ago.

I sent an a-mail for information to the factory, and after 1 day I got an answer from mister David Ingles, CEO.

'Thank you for your email, it is always nice to hear from overseas Hellis owners. Your gun is described in the records as a 12g hammer gun with 30 inch barrels, full choke in the left barrel, 1 1/2 inch chambers. The gun was completed and first sold in September 1907 to a Mr. W. Flight for the sum of 5 pounds.'
