hello,,what makes you beleive it's an assult rifle? it sounds like you have a german bolt action rifle..proably a g-98 mauser or it may be a model 1888 commision mauser ..any other markings on the rifle anywhere ,,mabey on the side of the receiver? anything link m1888 or g-98,,any chance of a pic? that would help me to id what ya have,,if ya can't find any other markings..
