can anyone help with approx mfg date of my sauer 38h s/n 462xxx?

Well its an early model.Because it has the hammer drop and safty.If it hase a c stamped on it on the left side its a police addition.I have one all-so nickel plated like the one in the picture.Im woundering watt is stamped on the mag drop a circle or is it chekered?
