i have a Remington pre-model 11 that was given to me by my father inlaw. i know it was manufactured between 1905 and 1910 before it was names the model 11. it is really good condition. it was refinished about 25 years ago. both the steel and the wood. the forstock has a small piece broken off. any idea of the value? thanks for the input.

If you post most of the serial I can tell you at least the year of manufacture and *maybe* the month. 1911 started with serial 109804.

Very unfortunate it was refinished but maybe it was gone enough it didn't matter. It's hard to estimate the value of a refinished gun I would say 300-400 but you might be able to get a little more if it's as good as it appears just depends if you find someone that doesn't care.

I simply won't buy a refinished gun unless it's extremely rare and then it would have to be priced right to tank it and remove all finish. No finish is better then a refinish, but I'm one of those REAL an.l collectors.

Sorry close as I can get is 1908.
28791 - 53415.

I don't know a heck of a lot about shotguns but I believe a grade 4 is correct.
