I have a 338-06 built on a browning a-bolt. It kicks like a mule, but is very accurat. so far, it's taken 2 buffalo and 1 elk. I hear alot of negative feed back on the round, but I love it. Any thaughts? Shooter.

hi shooter,
i've seen one that was built on a win 70 action and it too was a very accurate shooter. it had a muzzle brake and although it was very, very loud it tamed the kick down a great deal. you may have seen this but if not check it out.

Hi Kim, thanks for the reply. I've got another one for you. I have a .244 h&h magnum built on a ruger #1. this one is a tac driver! If you think the .338-06 is loud! The only problem is the bbl life, about 300 350 rounds if loaded to max. Only practical for shots over 400 yards or will burger the animal. Ever heard of this beast? Shooter.

I've only heard of it, anything that's faster than a 240 weatherby mag.'s gotta be the final word in the 6mm class. i've owned a 6mm rem and at the time thought it was an impressive round...little did i know...lol
