the grips are brown with like small basket weave design feels like plastic?? could just be rael varnished wood, there is no loop on the back as I have seen on others, I cannot see the marking well enought to tell you what is is, it is distinguished enough to see, but my eyes are not,, sorry

it sounds like you may have a model 1935 browning high power,,this is a guess though,,mabey do a online search on the above model and see if it looks like what you have,,and let us know ,,then we could possibly give you a more accurate value,,it's just very hard guessing what you have by the description you have given..sorry

bak in 1980 I used to own a 9mm browning pistol like you have and traded it for a smith and wesson 9mm but the grips are larger and not as comfortable.... anyway i,m looking to find and buy another browing 9mm like i believe yours is. Do you still have it and would you be interseted in selling it?

that is worth more than you think. the browning is now made in china. hold on to it it will be worth more the longer you hold on to it.

I have a Browning 9mm also Belgiun made also, mine has a 5 diget serial # wood grips with checkering. It also has a winged eagle with a swastika on it in three different places, it has a boxed H on the front of the trigger guard. I assume that this was made for Germany for world war 2 use. Does it have any value?

You're replying to a four year old post that was last replied to over two years ago.....probably a moot point now.
