I just recently purchased a Browning, believed to be an A5. serial 115717, has raised rib, barrel markings; **- special steel 2 9/16 receiver has fn markings w/last four of serial #. These last four are also on slide and screws located on receiver. What is different is the stock, there are two mounted "Pearl pentagons mounted on each side of barrel stock about 1/2 in in dia,on right side a gold "G" inbedded in the handle, and a compass in the underneath side of the handle part of the stock. I ask if the "G" stood for the his great grandfather who originally owned the shotgun,he said no but his great aunt's name was Grace. Like to know age of this shotgun, what value, and anything about the stock...THANKS!
