your date sounds right ,,during the war years of 1943-1947 winchester doesn't give exact year of production figures or serial numbers,,at the end of 42 the last recorded serial number was 1221289 and then in 48 the numbers resumed at 1500000,,as for value you really didn't say what condition it was in ,,but a range would be 400 good -700 excellent,,dealers will try to buy as cheap as possible and may offer 200-300 for it +or- depending on condition
