Spotted the Bersa Thunder .380 auto over the weekend. Looks like a well made .380 auto for only $200. Anyone fired one a few times and care to comment on it?

Cobby.
A Markarov .380 is a better value.

I fired 50 shots through one. Hardly enough to get a feel for it but you are right they do look like they are well made and the price is right.

What I don't like about PPK pattern pistols is: weak .32 or .380 cartridges and the blasted spur always poking me somewhere tender. But if you have a rig that will prevent that and are content with one of those cartridges Bersa is good for the

I have one and it is a reasonably good pistol. Notice that the trigger is stamped metal, though. It shoots well, has never jammed, and is very easy to take down for cleaning. Still I wish at times that I had saved the money for a Sig .380.

I bought one of these a couple of years ago. I have put about 500 rounds through it. Seems accurate enough at 10 feet or so. Seems to function even when dirty. I have never had a jam with it. I would reccommend one just for fun. I am not sure I would stake my life on a 380 though.

I love mine! Over 1000 rnds through her with out a hitch. She rides in an ankle holster real nice. For a short bbl it is accurate out to about 10 yds. Very easy to field strip and clean. For the money you can't beat it. It was my 3rd handgun that I purchased and now I'm up to 13. It is one of them that I will not get rid of.

But you can get an FFL to order you a Bulgarian Makarov which are now going for around $130.00 wholesale. With shipping, tax, and a reasonable FFL fee, you may still end up under $175.00.
9x18 ammo is easy to come by, inexpensive, and is marginally more powerful than .380. The guns are durable, reliable, and accurate. Some complain that anything under a .45 is underpowered, but I figure the NKVD and KGB weren't exactly known for being 'kinder, gentler killers.'
