I've been looking at a Beretta Jetfire at a local gun shop. It looks like it was made in 1953 and has pearl grips that appear to be genuine. The shop owner thinks the grips are factory. The price he has on the gun is about $500 and is in very good condition, has original brochure and parts list. I am trying to find out if this is a fair price and if the grips could have been installed at the factory. I really like the piece but I am quite a novice, and looking for some advice. Would this gun be a good investment? Anyone that can provide comments or more information would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Kentucky Gal

hello,,the jetfire your talking about ..is it a 950/jetfire 22 cal?or is it a 950b in 25 cal,,either way they were introduced in 1955 and current value of a used but NIB example would be 200-250 (2008 standard catalog of gunvalues),,as for the grips i don't beleive that a pearl grip was standard,,grips were either wood or plastic,,but with pearl grips it may be worth a bit more for looks alone.. but not to a collector in which case it would depreicate the book values,,but weapons are increasing everyday and a rule of thumb is do some homework and check the auction site around the net and compare prices!
