I don't have a lot of info. on this gun yet but I can say it is in atleast fair condition with engraving and a bit of blueing left. I will get serial # and anything else I can in a few days.

I was wondering what it might be worth?

Thanks in advance, Wizeguy

hello, the baker guns were made around the turn of the century early 1900's and made in batavia new york,,they were a very good quallity double,,that came in many different models and grades and guages, the batavia leader was a sidlock hammerless model so this is a little strange to see a hammer model leader but anything is possible,,the leader had a nicer finish than the special ,,they also made a black beauty with light engraving,,there guns athough well made never really seemed to aprieciate like the parkers and lc smithguns... for your model in fair condition book value is 325 and in excellent condition 550,,being a hammer gun prices may be a little lower,,,i owned 1 baker shotgun in my years of collecting that was the best bunny gun i have ever owned and kick myself for getting rid of it but it needed a stock and parts then and still are very hard to come by these days ,,if you get a chance post a pic ,,

Thanks for the info. I'm interested in this gun. I don't want it if I can't shoot it though. It would need to be able to handle modern ammo. The 1897 Win. I may buy just as a collectable.
