I think I'm going to give up on Guns America. When ever I inquire about something for sale on Guns America or send a trade offer on one that says 'Trades Considered' I usually get either a piss-poor response or none at all. The people who advertise on there really just couldn't be bothered it seems like. I never send questions or offers unless I'd really consider buying it, so it's not like I'm just being a nuisance. Just specific questions or realistic trade offers. Why advertise if you're not willing to communicate with a potential buyer?

Also, I've noticed that a lot of the answers in the Guns America FAQ are really sarcastic and crabby. I sent a polite suggestion on how to improve their search and I got a rather curt response. Are the people who run the site just grumpy in general or what?

On the other hand I've actually had only good experiences and dealings through GunBroker.com auction site, but the selection is pretty limited. Are there some other good places on the web to look for used

We have posted firearms up on GA for a year now, and we have a stack of printed e-mails with customers saying they were surprised we got back with them so quickly, and that we try very hard to give them as much info as possable. It all depends on who you deal with. you will find the good, the bad, and the worse.

I've sold a couple of guns on GunsAmerica. the problem lies in how you get messages from GA from interested parties. The format of these messages is kind of obscure

Tom Bower's www.subguns.com has a significant non-NFA firearms classified section. All of the people I've met on the boards have been courteous, friendly and honorable. Again, the selection (at least for non-NFA firearms) isn't nearly as good as www.gunsamerica.com and there are a *few* bad people on the board (so listen to Tom's warning posts about who are bad traders and make note of their addresses), but it's a good alternative to gunsamerica.

Best regards,

I bought a pistol from Guns American that I wasn't happy with, and the seller refunded my money and shipping. I was sad that the gun wasn't what it was supposed to be, because I had been looking for one a while. I was happy that the seller understood and refunded my money.
