Top of my wish list these days. I subscribe to Gun Tests and have read their reviews but was wondering what anyone thinks about what's available.

well ihonestly think an ar-15 is a good decent gun know i own one ar-15 its made buy colt i believe anyway an ar-15 depends on were you live if you have limits on how many rounds you can have in the gun then its not to good when your trying to have fun with a 5-10 round mag but if there is no limit then great now you also have to think about ammo is it easy to get a hold of how many can i buy? is it cheap? how good is the quality? but i personally dont like the caliber its to small for me my ar-15 i upgraded to a 7.62x39mm bullet which is way more fun to use and i love to use it for hunting small game but if you want an ar-15 go ahead and get it you wont be dissapointed well tell me if this helps allright

hi clipper,
what do you want your wish list rifle to do?
i own a mine-14 in 223 that'll kill any game animal in north florida with proper bullets. i've got a 7mm rem mag that'll kill anything on the north american continent. black rifles are great assualt rifles without a doubt. i'm not a big fan of the .30 cal russian, but that's just a personal preferance. preferances should be what you want it to do, what you can afford and what you personally want. money no object,,,,i'ld buy a steyr aug...ak reliablity with ar accuracy. but that's JMHO.

hello ,,well i guess i'll add my 2 cents worth,,i've shot some of the ar variants out there and owned a few also ,,with so many people manufacyuring ar's these days it's a tough call as to who's the best..they used to say you can't go wrong with the ABC's Armilite,Bushmaster,Colt,,but theres new kids on the block and there making some fine ar's too includeing Rockriver,,Smith and Wesson,,Remington,,DPMS,SNS Industries,,Les Bauyer,Olympic arms, ect and the list grows it seems everyday,,i've personally shot the colt, bushmaster ,rock river,,olympic arms and SNS industries ar's and all are a quality made firearm,,i've read many articles on the S+w rifles and the les bauyer versions,,DPMS makes a fine line of entry level affordable ar's that fits just about everyones budgit,,theres alot i haven't had much experiance with but if your looking any one of the above should give you years of dependable service,,when you buy one just make sure its a mil spec designed rifle and do some homework online and read reviews about whatever variant you deceide on ,,Theres alot of good sites out there devoted to the black rifles with lots of info,,but also make sure before you buy to do the homework because there are some problem childs out there and you don't want to get stuck with a lemon..

i love the ar-15's but rather have the .308 model more power or the newer 6.8mm is it .. ? ar-15's tend to jam to easly after few 100 rounds. the .223 to small hunt legally .224 min for hunting 7mm real nice love to own one but the old .06 pretty hard to pass up here north or something larger in cal.

Thanks for the input. I haven't bought one yet, still deliberating. Personally, I think I'd stick to the .223. I'll use it primarily on the range and for home defense so the .223 is fine and cheaper.
