I bought a Win. 1200 12 gauge at a gun show for $200. When you push the relese button it feeds and ejects the shells just fine, BUT when you go to chock the gun to shut it, it feeds 2 at once, all of the shells would come out at once if there were room. I took it to a fancy gun store/gun smith place and they want $45. just look at it, I belive its a standerd problem and anyone who knows about guns shouldent have an extra charge included. So any help would be very great. The gun is clean, and quality ammo is being used. thank you ELDON

Hi Eldon,

That sounds really expensive just for looking at it. I'm sorry that I have no other ideas.

I think Winchester likes to call the piece the "cartridge Cut Off" . Others call them the interuptors, shell latches, and shell stops . There is one on both sides of the reciever located at the opening to the magazine tube. They are operated by the action slide arms and control the feeding of the shells out of the magazine. During the stroke (cycle) of the pump action one of the cut offs is responsible for releasing a shell from the magazine and the other one is responsible for stopping the next round out of the magazine until its proper time in the cycle. You will likely have to adjust or replace one of the cartridge cut offs. ( I think it's the right side one on the Winchester giving you the problem but it is best to double check that) They are not hard to change but more like a $15 to $20 fix.
