I posted a request for values an hour ago about two GI bring backs. A further question on the 10" cleaning rod. A web source said that earlier rifles had the shorter rods, replaced later with 12" versions. Is this short rod correct for the 1940 made 98k? I have my doubts, because a 1937 made bayonet will not fit it with the rod in place. Fits fine if you swap it out for the 12" rod. Any thoughts?
