thats a fair offer without looking at it.. and knowing bore condition,,amount of original finish remaining ,,if it's a saddle ring model caliber and if it's been altered in any way,,and working condition..

how do i tell if its a saddle ring model when i let a guy trade it to me 15 years ago he said it was a short sadle rifle me knowing nothing of these guns took him on his word and kept it in the closet ever since

if it's got a ring hanging on the left side of the action about midway from the trigger it's a saddle gun,,if it doesn't mabey somebody took the ring off look for a stud sticking out with a hole in it where the ring might have been,,the ring is proably abouy 3/4"round just like a ring for you finger..and it was made in 1918 so it should be worth at least 500 in decent condition

it does have a place for a ring (no ring) ill let you know how i do at the show thanks for the advice,i had friends telling me a few hundred too a few thousand now i will have something to go by thanks

when ya go to a show always ask more than you want then you can pretend your giving someone a great deal,,like most dealers do,,ya gotta play the game and don't take the first offer ya get ..unless ya gotta sell it now!and by the way a replacement ring is pretty inexpencive so don't let someone talk ya down because of the missing ring...
