I have a super nice model 27 with jeweled target hammer and trigger. super smooth action job was done to it 30 years ago. brass inlay front sight. I believe that it was awarded to a highway patrol man for years of service. I bought it around 1980 from my buddies at Papac Brothers guns and kinfes. I'm wondering what it is worth? What I would like to do is trade it for a combat commander for concealed carry.

hi jimenez,
If you pistol is in 95%+ condition you should see 750 - 850. stainless add another 100. for collectors you may get more if i was infact a patrolmans awarded weapon. JMHO

Actually the mods would detract from its value to a collector. Having said that, it would still bring a good price as the 3 1/2" is one of the most desirable of all 27s. I THINK the 6 1/2 is the rarest.

I have seen numerous ads for 27s in the $900 to $1,100 range.

The 27 as such was never made in stainless. Some years ago a first Model 627 was made, and then later another 627 variant was made.
