Can someone please tell me what my 1971 Remington 700 25-06 is worth? It is in great condition, has over 90% of original finish, stock has only minor knicks and scratches. Serial #6427679

hello ,,your remington 700 should be worth between 350-500 in the private market or online.. in the condition you say it's in ,,a dealer might offer 200-250 for it in a gunshop sale or trade ,,

Thanks for the response. I found out I have the BDL, does that change anything?

yes and no,,the bdl is the delux version and should have a floorplate if memory serves me right..the adl had a blind box mag,,i'd say add between 75-100 to the prices i quoted ,,sporting rifles sometimes are very slow movers and there seem to be sooo many on the online auction sites that the prices seem either pretty low or way overpriced and don't sell,,it's a buyers market right now with the internet going like it is ,,more people will wait or keep looking for the best deal they can get,,

Yeah, it has a hinged floor plate. Thanks for the info. Does Remington reblue rifles? If they don't where can I have it done professionally? I know if I have it done it won't increase the value but I'd like to restore it without decreasing the value if possible, and without spending and arm and a leg.

hello again,,good blueing gunsmiths are getting few and far between,,i can't say if remington does reblues for private individuals and if they do i wouldn'rt expect it to be cheap!! ,,There was a smith locally that could make it look the way it left the facorty,,but unfortunatly he passed away about a month ago..Try looking in your yellow pages for a gunsmith locally and see if they could do the job for you,,but it's a crapshoot if there work is good ,,i'd say your looking at between 100-200 for a good reblue ,,you might be able to find someone who does reblue work at local gunshows,,since your thinking about haveing it refinished mabey even look at shows for guys doing parkerizing or duracoat finishes,,i've seen some done very well and really enhance a nice rifle,,just some thoughts for ya !
