Hello, I recently bought a Remington 1911A1 from a neighbor who told me that her husband was a Lt. in the Army at the end of WWII and was in germany. She told me that her husband was issued it new and shot it maybe 20 times since then, he brought it home and put in his closet till he died a few years ago. I have been looking at this gun and can see nothing but slight holster weat at the nose. It hasn't been refinished and looks like new. My local gun dealer jumped at it offering $800. But I think that might be too low. I also have a shoulder holster he had made in gernany with his name on it. Any idea what I should be looking for? Buy the way, the wife wanted $200. G.

yea i would think with the provanance behind it,,i would think you could add a zero to the price she wants for it and not take a penny less than 1500 with the extras and the story behind it.. i wouldn't be a bit surprised if at auction it went for proably another 1000 on the prices i quoted mabey more if you had bring back papers,,very nice find! how about posting a pic of it over on the pride catagory and show this jewel off a little..lol

Hi bought the 1911 not too long ago and I think I'll try to find a 1911 expert local and see what he thinks too. I thing your pricing sounds good. Her is a site you can see my gun, I'll try to download it also.
