I bought this gun in Berlin Germany in 1967.
It is in good condition, and is one of 4,171
manufactured by US&S. Source Coltsautos.com.
I intend to sell it and would like a retail value. If anyone could help me I would be very
thankful.

hello,,your union switch and signal 1911 is kinda odd ,,because the serial number range for the us&s pistols began with 1041405 and ran to about 1096404 they delivered a total of 55000 pistols in 1943 according to my refrence books ,,the standard cataloge of military firearms ,,and this is one of if not the best refrence books available on military firearms,,i also looked your serial number up at www.profhouse.com and they have an extencive colt database and there serial numbers match my refrence books serial number ranges ,,the serial number you gave is a ithica block number so it may be possible that your pistol was either a rebuild at some time and the slide was changed or is a mixmaster someone put together as US&S pistol ,,The US&S 1911s are a highly sought after variation of the 1911 pistols but must be in the correct serial number range and have correct parts to acheive the collectors intrests,,original correct examples will bring 1800 fair -4000+ excellent ,,arsenal reworked pistols will range between 500-1000,,i think you should do some more research on you pistol because it sounds like you may have a rework with a US&S slide and a ithica numbered frame,,and i'd ask some more questions on the colt site reguarding the serial number range for your pistol and US&S's block numbers,,let us know what you come across because mabey someone knows more than my refrence books and the proofhouse site..
