Hello What would be the value German Mauser Model 98 Dot 1939 Sporterized all matching number. Overall Condition is Good.
Can you post a picture of the top of the receiver ring. The part that shows the year/code? Also, please post pictures of any other markings on the scope. Also, where is the front scope base?
As of now, I can tell you the bolt is not original to this rifle. It is renumbered: whether this was period done or done after the war is difficult to tell.
Which part of the bolt is renumber? The bore is mint
The entire bolt is renumbered. Originally, the bolt had four digits on all components with a letter suffix under the number on the bolt handle. Here is a picture of an original 42 1939 bolt.
What's going on with the sheet metal thing between the receiver ring and the rear sight base? Is that the front mount--or some attempt at one?
Also, is there a "0,2" on the barrel collar where it meets the receiver?
Custom Mauser values are tough. Each is different and most sell for shooter prices. Yours is a really nice military gun that has had the stock cut down. suggest you find a WWII stock and then you will have a $1200 gun. Now it s worth about $400.
Yes there is "0,2" on the barrel collar what does it mean?
It means it was re-barreled during the war. I am not seeing a lot of value here and I assure you adding a non-matching stock isn't going to help it.
I would have it inspected by a gunsmith to make sure it is safe to fire and then enjoy it as a shooter.
Would it be worth $100.00 with the scope ?
hello,,every day of the week it's worth 100 bucks with the scope it's a super good deal ,,congrats ,,
Looks like the barrel was milled down for the scope mount.
