This is the most upfront gun site I've found. Thanks to start.
How does one find a local appraiser? I've searched the web and not found much. I am in central Arizona.
The rifle
Winchester 1892 Sporting Standard 32-20
Ser # 8592 (First year production - 1892!)
Wood - clean, tight, a few small dents, nice straight grain
Barrel some internal pitting(black powder?)
Overall metal is rust free I would guess 75% original bluing.
4-5 small dents on the top/front of the breech(Something jammed really bad at some time.)
Great fun to shoo. So much history. Would think $1400 or better?
