16 Ga. Stevens Double Barrel

Any idea of the value of a 16 ga. Stevens double barrel shotgun in very good condition?

Ball park value is fine. I am doing this for a friend and I don't have all the specifics on it yet.

they made a couple different models ..i'd guess it's a 311 stevens ,,but it will be marked with a letter after the model number and i need that to tell which one he has ,,311's are bringing between 250-500+ in my aera but everything revolves around which model he has ,,

In regard to the Stephen double barrel 16 gauge shotgun I was asking about, the numbers we found on the gun are as follows:
DDO16-6415-4415
followed by 88558
There was also some lettering: A E U H
My friend has owned the shotgun for 44 years and got it from another individual who owned it an unknown number of years.

Does any of this help identify it?

The long string of numbers above, beginning with "DDO" looked like some "average Joe" engraved it. It did not look professionally engraved.

the shotgun should have stamped markings on the side of the receiver ,,if they look engraged i don't think they would be factory markings,stevens made doubles from 1887-1988 and most will be marked on the side plates with a model #,,where exactly is it marked stevens? and are the letter large or small?are there any other words or letters around the STEVENS name stamp? can ya post a pic? of the stevens marks?

Hey there. I jsust so happend to have picked up a Stevens 16ga

The markings are as follows:

Left side of receiver says Stevens and has a Pointing dog on it

Right side of reciever says J Stevens Arms Company Chicopee Falls Mass USa under it slightly to the left 5100

Inside under the For Grip it is marked so
a circle around an A / a circle around an E
Directly under those markings is an X and an H

Any Clue what I have here??
